I want this nation to heal. But let me be clear — healing is not forgetting. Healing is not looking the other way. You cannot build something whole on a rotten foundation.

Daryl Davis is a Black musician who befriended members of the KKK — not to endorse them, but to talk. Over 200 members left the organization because of it. That’s the power of conversation over contempt.
